Sustainable Singleton

Why should I enter?
Sustainable actions make a positive impact. When we focus on sustainable living, we actively make choices to do the things that benefit our communities and the environment - now and into the future.
We know that there is already some incredible community initiative happening in this space, and this is an opportunity to join in and celebrate in that.
One creative entry from each of the four categories will receive a $500 Spend in Singleton gift card for their contribution!
All creative entries will be showcased in an exhibition at Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre in February 2025 and the four category winners will also be featured in Council's next edition of the Singleton Edit, which is delivered to every house across our community.
What does 'sustainability' mean?
Sustainability is about considering how we choose to live and actively doing what we can to make choices that don’t poorly impact others, including future generations.
It's thinking about the unintended outcomes of what we do, buy, make and sell, such as waste, pollution and climate change.
Living sustainably can be many different things like:
- reducing and conserving electricity and water
- refusing, reusing, repairing and recycling waste
- growing, composting, sharing
- walking, riding, carpooling
- litter picking, tree planting, weed whacking
- caring for country and culture
- community health and wellbeing
All efforts, big and small, count towards creating a sustainable future!
