Having a conversation
Asking how someone is feeling and asking directly about suicide could be the first step to helping them. Steps:
- Ask directly if they’re thinking about suicide
- Listen and stay with them
- Get help. Call Lifeline T 13 11 14, or if life is in danger call T 000
- Look after yourself. Talk to a friend, family member or Lifeline about your experience
