Caravan Parks
Also known as holiday parks, they’re no longer the fairly basic affair you might remember from your youth. These days, in addition to an amenities block and the reception office, you’re likely to find cabins, glamping tents, playgrounds, water parks and WIFI.
Caravan parks can be privately managed or run by organisations, but the same etiquette rules apply. One of the most important rules to follow is the disposal of your caravan’s stored grey (kitchen and shower) and treated black (toilet) water. It is prohibited to flush waste down wash basins or in toilets in ablution blocks, so caravanners are expected to use designated dump points when emptying toilet cassettes. For travellers pitching tents in caravan parks, use the camp kitchen facilities to wash dishes as opposed to bathroom basin.
