With its breathtaking scenery, historic vines, passionate producers and unrivaled experiences, it’s little wonder Broke has once again been recognised in the NSW Top Tourism Town Awards.
Known as the Hunter Valley’s hidden gem, the village nestled in the foothills of the Brokenback mountain range offering a huge range of opportunities to explore, unwind, savour and connect has high hopes for a win after claiming silver in last year’s awards.
Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore said taking out top honours this year would be a just reward for Broke after being consistently recognised as one of the state’s best tiny tourism towns.
“From its incredible wineries, cellar doors, natural charm and dining experiences, Broke is truly a special place and worthy of being recognised as one of NSW’s most outstanding regional destinations,” she said.
“It’s also a great destination for locals and visitors alike to plan a get-together for a weekend or to mark a special occasion with friends and family as it has plenty of ways to stay from country houses to retreats, cosy cottages and even glamping.
“To be acknowledged in these awards for the fifth-year running is a testament to the passion, authenticity, and love that our local businesses, makers and community share with visitors to Broke.
“Winning silver during its bicentenary celebrations last year was an incredible achievement, but we hope the public can get behind Broke this year and vote for it as their favourite tiny town to finally give it the top gong that we know it deserves.”
Broke is nominated in the Tiny Tourism Town category (population under 1500 residents) of the NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, which celebrate our state's diverse and outstanding regional destinations.
Karin Adcock, president of Broke Fordwich Wine Tourism Association, said everyone should take the opportunity to discover what Broke has to offer.
“Broke is just 15 minutes’ drive west from Pokolbin, but it’s the road less travelled and it’s all the better for it. Away from the crowds, our region is brimming with passionate wine makers, single estate vineyards, artisans and local producers,” she said.
“Set in a stunning natural environment we welcome visitors to our local family-owned businesses to savour and unwind. Broke really is an authentic country experience not to be missed.
“We want people to discover our hidden gem, which is why we need everyone to jump online to vote for Broke as NSW’s Top Tiny Tourism Town, so we can go for gold in 2025.”
