Test your survival in battle for support for local organisations

Stretch your creativity and harness the power of teamwork in a battle for survivor supremacy as Singleton Council hosts the first ever Singleton Community Survival Challenge on Monday 14 October.
In what promises to be a fun and exciting evening of entertainment, everyone’s being encouraged to form a team or register as an individual to participate in the free event—and the chance to win $1,000 for their favourite not-for-profit organisation, registered charity or sporting club that services the Singleton community thanks to Thiess.
Masters of Fun have been called in to design a program of fun and exciting activities for all fitness levels, abilities and ages for everyone to test their ultimate survival skills and overcome a range of obstacles to take out the title of Singleton Survivor champion at Singleton Civic Centre.
All the fun kicks off at 5.15pm.
The event is part of Singleton Council’s Access and Inclusion Program, funded by the NSW Government’s Resources For Regions Round Nine and sponsored by Thiess.
Vicki Brereton, Council’s Director Organisation and Community Capacity said people are being encouraged to form a team to represent their sports club or community organisation and possibly net $1,000 for their organisation to spend on whatever they needed it for.
“We’re ready for non-stop entertainment, loads of laughs and some friendly competition where people can stretch their creativity and harness the power of teamwork to overcome whatever obstacles are in store for them in a great evening of fun,” she said.
“Unfortunately, there can only be one champion and one winner of the $1,000 donation, but we’re looking forward to lots of people registering their teams or as individuals to be involved, and we’re very grateful to the State Government and Thiess for their support.
“You can find the registration form to be part of the event on Council’s website or Facebook page.”
Kerrie Howells, Thiess Senior Advisor – Community, Diversity + Inclusion NSW said the event was a fun and creative way to showcase the diversity of skills, expertise and talents that exist in our community.
“We think this is a wonderful way to bring people of all abilities together from across our community to work towards a common goal to support the clubs and organisations that support us,” she said.
