Delivering Your Dream

Locals looking to build, renovate or make improvements to their property but are unsure of where to start can now pick up an all-new free resource to help deliver their dreams.

To be launched at Council’s Planning in the Park event at Singleton CWA Hall on Thursday 4 July, the Delivering Your Dream booklet has been created to help people building in Singleton understand and successfully navigate the development assessment process.

People with questions about development and environmental matters including development applications, building certification and inspections, construction certificate assessments and Council planning advice can drop in between 2 – 4.30pm to talk to Council’s planners and certifiers.

Aaron Malloy, Council’s Acting Director Infrastructure and Planning Services said the new booklet was a great source of information for people of all experiences, from those looking to dip their toe into the planning pool to those who have a few builds under their belts.

“The development application process can be daunting to navigate and there’s a lot to understand, from the jargon and what you should do before lodging your paperwork, to what happens once Council receives your application,” he said.

“This is where the Delivering Your Dream booklet comes in to help.

“It outlines a great range of information and the steps in the application process that will help you navigate the development system with confidence.

“We’re excited to launch this great new resource at our next Planning in the Park event at Singleton CWA Hall where residents can pick up their copy for free as well as talk to Council’s planners and certifiers face-to-face in an informal setting and without the need for an appointment.

“Our team is always here to help people navigate the development process, but we want to make it even easier.”

The Delivering Your Dream booklet is also available to pick up for free from Council’s Administration Building.
