Long-time Singleton Council Director Business and Corporate Services Anthony Egan has announced he will leave the organisation on 5 November 2021.
In 21 years with the organisation, Mr Egan has overseen Council’s finance, governance, information technology, information management, community services and customer service functions at one time or another, and supported four general managers.
He has also been involved in capital works projects such as the Town Centre Upgrades, the Singleton Regional Livestock Upgrade and lease arrangement, and the administration of several special rate variations.
“The time is right to open a new chapter in my life, and I know there are good people who will step in and carry on the work that has been done to put Singleton Council in a good position to take the community into the future,” Mr Egan said.
Mr Egan’s departure will create a vacancy in Council’s Executive Leadership Team to be filled by current Manager Corporate Services Mark Wiblen on an interim basis.
General Manager Jason Linnane acknowledged the incredible contribution Mr Egan has made to the Singleton local government area in a long and successful career.
“I’m sad to see him leave, and it’s disappointing for our organisation,” he said.
“At the same time, I’m excited for Anthony to move into a new phase of his life.
“He has made an incredible contribution to this organisation over 21 years, and has put in place foundations that will guide our future success for generations to come.
“I sincerely thank Anthony for his contribution, I wish him well for what is next for him and I hope he won’t be a stranger.”
