After being part of the Singleton Public Library building’s 10th birthday in 2014, it’s only fitting that acclaimed Australian author, screenwriter and actress Judy Nunn is back for the 20-year celebrations with a new book, Stories from the Otto Bin Empire.

Celebrated for her historical novels including The Glitter Game, Kal and Elianne and perhaps best known for her long-running role as Ailsa in TV’s Home and Away, Judy will be at Singleton Civic Centre on Thursday 14 November from 5.30 – 7pm as part of the Singleton Speaker Series.

Vicki Brereton, Singleton Council’s Director Organisation and Community Capacity said the immensely popular series had brought some of Australia’s best-known writers to be part of the 20th year of the Library building on Queen Street, and November was shaping up to be another big month for readers.

“We’re thrilled with the response from readers and Library members who’ve been able to meet some of their favourite writers, as well as the authors themselves in making time to visit our wonderful Library,” she said.

“November will be one of our biggest months with an author talk every week, starting with something a little different on 7 November with No Name. Just Angels with Claudia Boymouchakian, which will also include a crystal singing bowl/sound bath session.

“Then we have Emma Grey talking about her now book Pictures of You on 21 November, and Tea Cooper joining us on 30 November with her new book, The Golden Thread.

“And of course we’re expecting In Conversation with Judy Nunn: Stories from the Otto Empire on 14 November to be very popular as we hear about the fascinating inspiration for Judy’s new book and reflect on some of her best-loved novels.

“Best of all, all the events in our Singleton Speaker Series are free, so I encourage everyone to book their free ticket and come along to learn more about the creative process for some of our most popular writers.”
