Applying for work experience

Student work experience supports the development of skills, eases the transition of students into the workplace and demonstrates the wide variety of interesting careers available within Singleton Council.

Singleton Council endeavours to provide work experience opportunities for students within the community, who are currently enrolled in a course of study with an educational provider or other institution.

Any work experience or work placement must be a requirement of the course or study being undertaken.  Students are required to provide evidence that the educational institution supports the placement and covers students for insurance purposes while placed with Council.

To find out more about work experience with Singleton Council please send an expression of interest  to  outlining the following:
  • Your name;
  • Your school or educational provider/institute;
  • The dates you would like to be placed (including how long you are seeking placement for)
  • Which area of council or position you are interested in.

Please allow up to 10 working days from the date of your enquiry to the commencement date of the work experience placement. This will allow Council the required time to identify the best opportunity and liaise with your educational institution to finalise and confirm your placement.
