Complying development
Complying development is a category of development which meets pre-determined standards and can be processed under a fast-tracked approval process. A Complying Development Certificate (CDC) is issued for a successful application and is a combined planning and construction approval.

The standards or rules that complying development must conform with are numerical, meaning that the design needs to exactly meet the numbers in the rules. The standards for Complying Development can be found in:

An application for complying development can be processed by Council by lodging a completed Complying Development Application or through an accredited private certifier.

The Rules for a property and development enquiry tool can be used to identify whether your development proposal may be considered under the Complying Development process and what rules may apply.
