The Upper Hunter Air Quality Monitoring Network (UHAQMN) is a regional air quality monitoring network that has been established in the Upper Hunter Region by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.
The UHAQMN was established in October 2010 in response to community concerns about the cumulative impact of coal mining on air quality in the Upper Hunter Region. The UHAQMN is comprised of fourteen (14) monitoring sites in strategic locations (including the major population centres of Singleton and Muswellbrook).
The air quality data that is collected through the UHAQMN network is available to the public in close to real time, with mobile phone text alerts being sent to subscribers when the air quality is ‘poor’.
More information about Air Quality Monitoring in Singleton can be obtained from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.
