Our history
Singleton has a long and proud history. From our agricultural foundations to our

abundant natural resources, we are more than just the State’s largest producer of coal.

Singleton is a progressive commercial centre, ever changing, ever growing.

Singleton Local Government Area (LGA) has a population of approximately 23,000 people, a diverse economy and with the completion of the Hunter Expressway, Singleton is much more accessible to the surrounding regions.

Singleton Council provides a range of support and services to the Singleton LGA and has a focus on customer service striving to not just meet expectations of our community, but exceed them.

Employee benefits
We know our people are our most important asset and for this reason we invest in our people for our future. With regular development and support and regular training being provided, our aim is to build capability both on a professional and personal level. For a better future…that’s our motto and we stand by it.

We also offer real work life balance opportunities by providing a Rostered Day Off program for both our indoor and outdoor employees and a flexible workplace providing remote access and working from home arrangements for those who just need to be at home.

We provide all outdoor staff with clothing and offer indoor staff a vast range of subsidised uniforms to choose from to suit every shape and budget.

Annual performance bonuses, lease back, tool of trade and pool vehicles are just some of the additional benefits we offer.

We also recognise individual, team and departmental achievements via a peer nomination program where nominees are provided with cash value prizes!

As a Singleton Council employee you will complete a comprehensive on boarding program which includes a combination of site visits, inductions and e learning.

Working for Local Government will also give you the opportunity to give something back and be a part of something bigger.
