    Singleton Festival celebrates all things food, wine, music and art. The 2017 Festival will take place from 29 April – 14 May 2017. The purpose of Singleton Festival is: - to highlight and reinforce the value of artistic and cultural endeavors of the local community - to encourage the community to see and appreciate these endeavors - to attract external artistic and cultural content of national significance to take part. Essentially, it is a community-driven Festival in the NSW Upper Hunter Valley operated by a voluntary committee who invite and collate event submissions of a high standard, cross-promoting them under the banner of the Festival.   1. En Plein Air Art in the Vines Competition

    Artists are invited to bring their own materials and experience the joy of En Plein Air. Bring your easel and create your masterpiece. Artworks produced over the nominated days may go on exhibition at Mistletoe Winery's Pokolbin Gallery. This competition based Around Hermitage is an acquisitive competition with $1500 prize money sponsored by Mistletoe Winery for the artwork that best captures the beauty of the Hunter.   2. Painting Outside the Square Art Exhibition

  3. Singleton Uniting Church Open Day and Organ Recital

    Come visit one of our local architectural treasures as Singleton Uniting Church opens it's doors and celebrates its heritage. Marvel at the stunning building with its exterior of Ravensfield stone and Welsh slate, and an interior roof based on the traditional hammer beam principle with solid ribs and moulded cornices. Inside, seating for 400 was created from beautiful kauri wood, while splendid stained glass memorial windows illuminate the beauty of the interior. To complement the ambience of the church and in celebration of this special event, the original pipe organ will be played for guests from 2:30pm. This beautiful 1920s instrument was installed in memory of soldiers who fought in World War 1. Come join us, relax in the surrounds and reflect on the richness of Singleton’s past.   7. Hunter Strength Wars

    Hunter Strength Wars will be a show of might and muscle and see competitors battling to be crowned strongest man or woman of the Hunter. Watch in awe as the competitors flip a tyre weighing 275kg over a 10m distance, an axle press pushed over their heads or a monster dumb bell of prophetic proportions. the show stopping finale, each competitor will attempt to lift the full weight of various vehicles.   9. Guinness World Record Attempt most people crocheting simultaneously

    Head to Singleton Civic Centre as the community prepares to crush the Guinness World Record for the most people crocheting simultaneously. Don’t worry if you can’t crochet, we’ll teach you! Receive a crash crochet course from Singleton Crafters at 9am ahead of the record attempt. The Civic Centre will open its doors from 10am for the registration process to begin. Hopefully most will have already registered but there will be opportunity to register on the day but be early to ensure to do this between 9am and 10am to meet the deadline. The Civic Centre will go into lockdown at 10:45am and once you are in the record attempt area this is where you will need to stay. The official launch of Singleton Festival will take place inside the Civic Centre at 11am and the record attempt will begin around 11:15am. Participants need to crochet continuously for 15 minutes to make the attempt official. Bring a size 4 hook and 8 ply yarn or your ongoing project. To register call 6571 5888.
