  2. Sustaining our Country - Sustainable Development through Indigenous Knowledge

    18 October, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Wollotuka Institute
    University of Newcastle
    Callaghan, NSW, 2308

The Wollotuka Institute and Veolia Australia welcome you to join a discussion about linking sustainable development with Indigenous knowledge’s and western technological advances. At a time when the world is preoccupied with climate change, as natural resources become scarcer, and we face growing challenges of urbanisation, we need innovative models that support growth and sustainability. Indigenous Australians are the world’s oldest living civilisation, have successfully practised environmental sustainability in developing the Australian environment for over 50,000 years. The forum aims to highlight and build the case for Indigenous knowledge’s and practices and the opportunities to link western innovation across land, water, waste and energy solutions.
