How Do I
Water is part of our daily lives, we drink it, swim in it and often take it for granted. Yet, to bring high quality water to your home and community facilites is a complex process and requires long term planning.

Singleton Council manages and supplies water to the residents of Singleton Local Government Area (excluding Branxton). Currently, there are approximately 6707 properties connected to the Council water supply. Council maintains approximately 272 kms of water supply infrastructure and the total annual consumption is approximately 2,500 megalitres. Our water infrastructure is valued at $80.5 million.

This system covers the following areas servicing both industrial and residential customers

  • Singleton Town (Residential & Commercial)
  • Retreat Estate (Rural Residential)
  • Mount Thorley (Industrial Area)
  • Broke
  • Maison Dieu (Rural Residential)
  • Jerrys Plains
  • Singleton Army Camp (Bulk Supply)
  • Singleton Abattoir (Bulk Supply)
  • Bulga Coal (Bulk Supply)
  • Mount Thorley/Warkworth Mines (Bulk Supply)
  • Integra Coal Mine (Bulk Supply)

The village of Bulga is not currently supplied with a reticulated town water service. Council has been working on strategies to establish a water supply scheme to improve the sustainability of villages in the Local Government Area.  Further information on the proposed Bulga Water Supply Scheme is available for download here.

Hunter Water supplies water and sewer services to the Branxton region of the Singleton Local Government Area.
