Singleton Council is inviting new tenders for construction of the upgrade of Ryan Avenue. The $2.9 million project is being funded by the NSW Government under the Resources for Regions program which is making at least $217 million in funding available to deliver vital infrastructure for communities experiencing direct and indirect pressures as a result of mining activity.
The project includes rehabilitating and replacing the road pavement, providing a new asphalt wearing course, line marking and signage, new road and pedestrian street lights, links to cycleways, installing wayfinding signage and new footpaths, kerb and guttering.
As required by local government legislation, Council must seek open tenders for any project with a value of more than $150,000. Tenders open tomorrow with documentation is available from Council’s website www.singleton.nsw.gov.au/tenders
Council engaged GHD to design the pavement upgrade while Spackman Mossop Michaels prepared the landscaping design to complement the work currently under way as part of the Singleton Town Centre Revitalisation project in John St.
Following the close of tenders, Council staff will evaluate all submissions received and a report recommending a preferred tenderer will be considered by Council.
Council anticipates awarding the contract in November with construction to begin in the new year.
